This is a much better trimmer than the other 4 I've owned and I highly recommend it for light trimming.
Some will be inclined to call me a nut because this is my fourth B&D Electric String Trimmer with one exception. This one is battery operated while the others were operated by 100 feet of extension cord. Years ago, I bought my first electric trimmer and was pleased with its operation until it burned up in less than a year and the selling company refused to honor its warranty because I did not have the original receipt. My fault. I threw it away and have not bought one item from that company since. I replaced it with my first B&D electric trimmer and away I went. I had to increase the length of cord and now I have over 200' of cord to work it. And it worked fine for a few months and it broke. B&D took it back with no problem. Another one went south and they replaced it. Each broken trimmer took place within the first year of ownership so my cost was zero except for the handling and packing trash that goes with such a return. The last corded trimmer still works O.K. but the string device will Not move the string when it is time. I have to undo the string container and feed it manually. That doubles my trimming time and is quite a hassle especially during summer. Incidentally, I have a super gas powered trimmer that I use for the distant sections of the yard and for heavier material. It is much more powerful and used on special occasions such as when the deer and other critters stop eating the brush.
Sorry for the history but I come to this trimmer with a modicum of experience and patience. This trimmer supports such things as not having to lug that heavy orange cord all around yards of yard. P.S. I have yet to cut the cord with the trimmer. I can't believe it either. The box arrived in one working piece. A few cuts to tape and actually reading some of the instructions, plugging in the charger and attaching a battery it was a wait until the next day and away we trimmed; with ease. I ran the battery down in about 30 minutes of trimming and not counting the walking to time. The next day after the other battery had charged I finished the yard with a little of the juice remaining. I think "juice" is slang for battery power. The length adjustment is perhaps one of the best features. One of us is 6'3" and the other is 5'5". One size does not fit all so having the ability to increase or decrease the length is quite nice. When it is trimming, not cutting, time a simple twist of the shaft permits a straight line of cutting and it sure looks nice when it's fresh. I felt so good about the trimmer that I even chunked the box in case it did not work. It works and works well.

better than I expected
My wife ordered this for me as a gift. I had a gas weed wacker that I was always repairing. I did not want an electric one so she ordered me this one that came with two batteries. She says there are no more excuses not to trim! I can do the front and back yards and don't even run down one of the batteries. I lovce it but thimk I will teach her how to use it as well! Hint hint!!

Lightweight string trimmer.
I use a gas powered string trimmer but my wife wanted something lightweight and less noisy so with many recommendations I chose this B&D Trimmer. It is fairly lightweight and is relatively quiet. With just one string (vs two on a gas machine) the trimming is slow. Basically this is a lightweight machine (in weight) and work capability but fits my wife's needs to trim around her flower dens. I would not want this to be our only trimmer. The batteries actually last longer than I expected.

Very Good Trimmer
I have had this trimmer for a year and a half and have it works quite well. It does not have a huge time with the batteries, but with 2 batteries am able to my whole lawn, (quite large) with the 2 batteries. I dont think it uses too much string. I dont replace the cartridges too often either. I read some did, but mine uses very little. It has been a great dependable trimmer with no problems.

Cordless Electric String Trimmer
This item is easy to use and is not too heavy to work with. The string comes out automaticaly just like the product says. The only problem is the batteries not lasting very long. I get about an hour on a battery and I have alot of trimming around the yard. But I still like the Black & Decker trimmer and am glad I purchased it since I do not care for the gas powered trimmers.

Believe it or not my wife wanted this for her birthday. It was too hard for her to start our gas trimmer and too heavy. This trimmer is lighweight, battery life is great, and it does a great job. Well worthe price.

Love how it just turns on without any strain at all
I love how I can just push a button and turn it on plus how I don't have to stretch the string anymore. One battery lasts for my entire lawn ONLY IF you don't let the lawn grow too long such that you have to edge the grass to death. Other than that, it works great...still not AS powerful as a gas trimmer where you can rev things up more than you can with this one, but the convenience and ease of use makes up for taking a wee bit longer to trim my lawn.

I have had the grass hog for about 4 weeks and have been very satisfied with it. It is much better than the last brand that I had. It is powerful enough to do a good job of trimming. I especially like the fact that it comes with two batteries. Wear one down, plug it in to charge,install the second batter and keep going.

I've had this string trimmer for over a year and I still love it. Nice and light, no bumping to feed the cord, and by the time I'm wearing out the battery needs recharging. I like that the shaft is shorter than the gas trimmers I've tried; I find it much more comfortable to use.
This is my second cordless string trimmer from B&D - I really liked the first one but it had a huge battery pack that I really struggled with removing to recharge - my hand isn't wide enough to press the buttons on each side simultaneously. This unit's battery just slides off the back when you press down on the slider-button.
I would definitely buy another if something happened to this one!

Great lightweight product
As a female senior I've been hesitating purchasing a string trimmer due to the weight of a gas, or cumbersome cord electric. This B/D Cordless does double duty with its quick and easy conversion to edging. I can edge and trim for at least two mowing events before switching to the second battery. My small battery hand trimmer and electric edger are now sitting in the garage - retired. What a wonderful product.
