The Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Inflatable Kayak is a hybrid consisting of an inflatable kayak in addition to a folding-frame kayak. It has been developed for increased trackability and performance. The hull contains built-in aluminum ribs that define the bow and stern and improve tracking.

This kayak is tough, thanks to the three layers of double-coated ripstop material for added puncture resistance. Some of the other features offered by the AdvancedFrame Inflatable Kayak are advanced inflation valves, bungee deck lacing, plenty of on-board storage, a D-ring tie down, molded rubber handles, and a skeg tracking fin.

Setting up is easy, all you need to do is unfold it, inflate it, and attach the seat. It comes with a repair kit, folding seat, and carrying duffel bag. This kayak uses extremely durable materials and high-end components, and the kayaks are quite easy to take virtually anywhere.

Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Inflatable Kayak Reviews:

After some time researching, we have found the majority of consumers to consider this inflatable kayak to be a real blast, and overall were very happy with their purchase. Another thing that should be mentioned is, the techs from the Advanced Element Company were also said to be extremely helpful, before and after the sale.

The one major negative from one reviewer mentioned that after much research, they decided to purchase a couple from the dealer. Basically, the person felt that many of the reviews on-line were not truthful in stating a 300lb max weight limit. Other negatives mentioned were that it turns out that the actual weight limit is 235lbs per person + gear, and all though it was described as being very well put together, it bends just a bit too much in the middle.

One thing that can be done (others have said to purchase it regardless) to alleviate this problem somewhat, is to purchase the Advanced Elements Backbone which will help make the kayak more rigid, as well as improve tracking and speed.

Another reviewer stated that it is simple to set up once you get the hang of it. All the materials used are sturdy, and the coating on the bottom which is the gray part, seems to be plenty tough for years of use. The red part on the top is made of a thick nylon, that although isn't waterproof, it does provide some protection from the elements. It may be helpful in furthering the protection, by adding some waterproofing spray on the top part, helping to ensure minimal water absorption.

If you are a taller person, Advanced Elements also has a larger model called the "Expedition." It is more expensive however, but it measures in at around 13′, and should have plenty of space for those who may need extra leg room.

This kayak seems to be very stable in the water, even when it's windy and choppy. Keep in mind though that it will be somewhat sluggish, especially when compared to a hard shell kayak.

Many reviewers had this set up and ready to go in under 15 minutes. It comes in a duffel bag that is about the same size as a medium suitcase, and weighs roughly 35 pounds. Deflation is also quite simple, but it was mentioned that it could be more work than it's worth to get it back in the case.

With the overwhelming amount of consumers stating how great this kayak is, coupled with only a few negative aspects that were brought up, I can honestly say I would have no problem recommending this inflatable kayak to anyone looking for anything that isn't too demanding like whitewater rafting.
