Among the different forms of kayaking, whitewater kayaking is the most difficult and requires the paddler to have sufficient experience and technical expertise. However, the thrill and adrenalin rush of whitewater kayaking is matched by few other adventure activities. There are several rivers that are considered as kayaking hubs and kayakers can choose from any of these rivers for this exciting venture.

Among the numerous rivers locations, the most popular rivers for kayaking include:

South Carolina Rivers: The south eastern state of South Carolina has warm tropical climate and is a popular among kayakers. The state boasts of rivers like the Edisto River, Saluda River and the most popular Green River.

The Edisto River basin is the longest free flowing stream in the world and flows through as many as 12 counties. It provides conditions (slow moving as well as rapids) that suit kayakers of all levels. The Green River on the other hand is mainly for experienced kayakers as it offers extreme kayaking conditions. The Green river is a popular whitewater kayaking destination not just in the United States but across other countries as well. The Saluda River too is a great whitewater kayaking location for experienced as well as beginners.

Kayaking in Texas: Texas is a fantastic kayaking destination as it boasts of great rivers that flow through some of the most wild and beautiful regions. Kayakers can choose from a large number of rivers depending upon their preferences. Some of the major whitewater locations include Brazos River, Guadalupe River, San Marcos River and Llano River.

The Llano River is a popular kayaking location as paddlers can wade through the point where the North and the South Llano Rivers meet. The Estero River is one of the most beautiful kayaking locations and the stretch from Koreshan to the Estero Bay is a regular kayaking trail. Paddling on the Silver River too is a unique experience as paddlers can enjoy beautiful scenery and myriad wildlife.
