Billy's Stone Crab Redfish & Trout Slam Classic

  Kayak Fishing ClassicS has announced the next tournament in the national series. Billy's Stone Crab Redfish & Trout Slam Classic is scheduled for September 24 & 25, 2010. Host sponsor, Billy's Stone Crab will host the Captain's Meeting on the 24th at 7 PM and the anglers will launch kayaks at Fort DeSoto at daylight on the 25th.  The photo weigh in is at 4 PM at Billy's followed by the Awards Ceremony.

The Kayak Fishing ClassicS is very well sponsored including Freedom Hawk Kayaks, Temple Fork Outfitters, Ocean Waves Sunglasses, High Roller Lures, Aqua Design, Linsey EyeCare, RiverBum Flies, and IceMule Coolers who award their kayak fishing related products to the winners in both the light tackle and fly fishing divisions. On average the ClassicS' awards over $6,000.00 in sponsor gear to the anglers that place first through fifth place.

Fort DeSoto area is a fantastic fishery offering numerous species for kayak anglers to try their skills on. This Classic event will focus on redfish and trout and contestants will be allowed to enter 3 of each fish by photo. The redfish and trout are large in the area and the fishing is very good right now so the event should be great.

Billy's Stone Crab offers a variety of foods with of course seafood as their specialty. The popular eatery is located at 1 Collany Rd. Tierra Verde, Florida which is only 1 mile from Fort DeSoto. The turnout is expected to draw anglers form Louisiana, Northern Florida, Tampa, Bradenton, Sarasota, Orlando and Punta Gorda. The Kayak Fishing ClassicS always has their events hosted by a water front restaurant and Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant fits nicely into the ClassicS business model. The anglers love it and the events bring new customers into their restaurant.
