Over the past few years, there has been a spurt of companies manufacturing a range of kayaking equipments. This has ensured a wide range of choice for the customers, thereby helping them in choosing the right kind of equipment. The greatest variety can be observed among kayaks designed by some of the leading kayaking brands.

Although there are several kayak manufacturing companies, some of the leading kayak brands are as follows:

Aire: Aire is a leading brand that has a wide customer base for its inflatable kayaks, canoes and rafts. For the past twenty years, Aire has delivered inflatable kayaks based on cutting edge technology. The company has also developed a special "Aircell" technology that has helped in enhancing the quality of the kayaks.

The Airecell technology comprises of features like Airecell tube, Airecell floors, outer PVC coating and double zippers. The Airecell tube ensures that there is no air loss for at least 72 hours once the kayak is inflated. The Airecell floors are made of nylon with an 8-mil urethane coating, which provides great strength and stability and allows the water to drain in less than 5 seconds.

Sevylor: A leading brand of inflatable kayaks, Sevylor has been in the business of making inflatables since 1948. However, it was not till 1962 that Sevylor began the process of designing a kayak. This process got a major boost when Sevylor bought Kayak Corp in 1972 and started producing different types of kayaks. Today, Sevylor is known to produce some of the most technically sound inflatable kayaks.

Coleman: Yet another popular kayak brand, Coleman kayaks have great demand mainly because they are one of the cheapest brands of kayaks available. However, paddlers are recommended to be cautious while using Coleman kayaks especially for Class II and Class IV whitewater kayaking.

NRS Inflatable Kayaks: The North West River Supplies (NRS) was established in 1972 by Bill Parks and since then the company has been producing inflatables. Like the Coleman kayaks, the NRS kayaks too are not very heavily priced and can be designed for amateurs and experienced paddlers.

Airis: Airis kayaks are known to be the lightest kayaks and are hence preferred by many paddlers. Also, Airis kayaks are available with special backpacks known as Airpacks. These backpacks have ample cushioning in the straps making it easier to carry the kayaks.

Innova Kayaks: Yet another very popular brand of inflatable kayaks, Innova kayaks are used widely for kayaking tours and expeditions. Innova is especially famous among expert paddlers and those who like to go around the world in their kayaks.

Incept Kayaks: A New Zealand based company, Incept is known to create some of the best kayaks and canoes used extensively worldwide. Incept specializes in manufacturing river as well as sea kayaks, which can be easily used by paddlers of all levels.

BicSport: A French company, BicSport has also emerged as a credible brand for inflatable kayaks. The YakkAir series of inflatable kayaks have found great acceptance among kayaking enthusiasts worldwide.
