Phuketis the largest island in Thailand, almost the same size as Singapore. It lies in the Southern part of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Patong Beach may well be the most "infamous" of all beaches. Aside from the frenzied water and non-water activities offered to guests in the morning, the pulsating night life in Patong is the nightlife!..unparalleled this side of the earth. If it's "partee" you want, hop on over to Patong when the moon is out.
Kata Beach is not as large as Patong beach but faces the same spectacular beach front. The beach has only the best to offer in terms of accommodations, entertainment, restaurants, clubs and bars, shopping and more on top of the varied water activities on the beach. Kata's ambiance is more family-oriented. Children will enjoy waking up to a beach a few meters from their beds. Facilities for bowling, mini-golf, shallow-water snorkeling and supervised camp activities are offered in various hotels in Kata Beach.
Off-north of Patong Beach is Kamala Beach. The guests here are more laid back and unhurried as the beach itself only sits only a handful of small but modern resorts and hotels. The beach front has actually more budget bungalows and inns perfect for travelers on a tight budget.
In between Patong and Kata Beaches is Karon Beach. It is a less crowded beach though than the other beaches but has accommodations to suit any tourist's budget and needs. Luang Poh Chuan Road is lined with bars that could be quite rowdy but for family meals, the Aroona complex with its string of restaurants is ideal.
